After posting a request four years ago (2004) I have a new family.

My father was brought up by his maternal aunt. His mother had left him with her sister. We always thought that this was after the death of my grandfather in WWI, just over two weeks before the Armistice.

Not so. Grandmother actually went and got married in 1917 and Grandfather went off to the war leaving my father with his mother and my Uncle with their grandfather in Gt. Yarmout,

On March 4th this year (2008) I was contacted by my half cousin and he has put me in touch with my previously unknown Uncle, my father's half brother. My new Uncle was brought up not far from my father and they never even met.

Now my sister's and I have relations on my father's side of the family and not just on my mother's side...makes a change.
