I want to say a huge thank you to genes reunited for providing such a WONDERFUL service!! I started my research as a total novice and within a day or so of posting messages on the board, began receiving so many messages from wonderful people who were willing to help me find my great-grandfather, who had seemed to disappear from the face of the earth in the early 1900's!!

So many people kindly did "lookups" for me - I was amazed at how much they did for me! In fact, one of the replies was from "Glitter Babe" in New Zealand (think it was NZ), who was spot on, and I didn't even know it!! My original thought was Arthur left England in 1916, as the youngest child in the family was born in 1916.... and Glitter Babe showed me an entry on the Passenger Lists for Arthur in 1909, Utica New York. I thanked her, and disregarded the information (but kept a note of it!!!).

After about 10 months, I put another message on the board and received a reply from my Arthur's granddaughter in the USA!! (Glitter Babe was right - Arthur DID arrive in New York in 1909!!! Thank you sooo much, GLITTER BABE!!!!) She is my mom's half-cousin, and we have been communicating almost daily ever since January! She has sent me photographs of Arthur, and also a copy of his lifestory which was printed in a Utica Newspaper in 1912!!! I am so lucky to have found her.... She is now planning a trip to England to meet me and my mam, along with other family members we have found! It's soooooo exciting, I can hardly wait. We are going to surprise my mam - she has no clue that I have found her cousin!

Thank you, once again, for such a wonderful site!!

Regards,

Carole Duff
