Thank you Genes Reunited for providing me with the means to access the army record of my uncle who sadly was killed in WW1. I was excited to see a photograph of him on his army record as none of his family have seen any photographs of him and to us his nephews and nieces he is just a name. My cousin and me are going on a pilgrimage to the Somme in August to lay a wreath at the Thiepval memorial on behalf of his family as his parents and siblings never had the opportunity to do this. Now we will have an image of a young man who made the supreme sacrifice . Thank you once again. |
