I am 54 years old, I was adopted and brought up as an only child and I have one daughter.
Last Thurdays I found out that I have TEN brothers and sisters. Next week I am meeting up with one of the sisters and through her I can make contact with other family members - I choose to take things slowly but since there are so many family members I better not be too slow about it.
My daughter is over the moon about having a family - it was all she ever wanted.
I posted my family tree on Genes reunited about a year or so ago and I have done nothing since - last Thurday a HOT MATCH came through and it was my sister.
From information I had been given by After Adoption I thought I had 2 sisters and 2 brothers but I didn't really know how to find them and I havn't had time to do any searching of records, I just put my details on this site and now I have a very long Christmas card list.
Seriously it is early days but now I can rest because I know the truth and I wish you all the best in your search - I cannot help you since as I say I did very little. Best wishes to you all and thanks to Genes Reunited
