My grateful thanks to Denise H for her invaluable assistance in tracing my family back to 1691. Without her help it would have been an extremely difficult task, especially as I am currently resident in South Africa.
What is truly amazing about this is the fact that I have since found cousins that I never knew I had, such as Andy, Robert, Susan and Graham. I will be meeting Andy and his wife Val in April, when they come out to stay with us. We will show them as much as my wife, Lorinda, and I can of South Africa and our National Parks and scenic wonders, in a hectic itinerary that we have put together for them. Hopefully Lorinda and I will be able to meet some of our other new cousins, when we make a trip to the UK in early 2009.
The incredible website of Genes Reunited is absolutely outstanding and the automatic matches generated make it so easy to follow up on links that one would not normally find. The co-operation and friendliness of other members is also something to be proud of - all of the folks that I have contacted, even for other surnames out of my family, trying to find old school friends, has been absolutely heart-warming. A huge & sincere thank you to all of you, Chris Albon
