Hope you're feeling ok, Sandie. Anniversaries are difficult times, aren't they?

Saturday is the third anniversary of my Ian's death. But - on the plus side - his son is coming up here to celebrate his engagement and to watch NUFC collect the Championship Cup. His mum (my predecessor in the marital department) has been good enough to invite me too. See - civilisation reigns!

Hi all~~

Yes thanks Liz,, dad died in the early hrs of the 19th and I was awake ever hr the early hrs of Monday, not knowing the exact time he died and knowing I had to sign the contract to sell the family house at 2pm that day, but I slept well last night. Don't know how I'm going to feel when I hand over the keys tho.

Hubby did the house up so there are a lot of new professional tools still there in the wardrobes we have to remove ,and empty the shed.
I expect the tools will go in the attic, but there's no way the wheelbarrow and gardening equipment is coming in the house.lol.
He'll have to be ruthless to clear his own shed or build a new one !!

We are on the flight path to the west and return and we usually see quite a few planes a day, but today I counted 30 in half an hour.
I had clothes out and thought it had gone cloudy, but it was all the vapout trails from the planes, I counted 8 at one time and they are still going !
A lot of ash victims will be glad I'm sure to be back home.

Where's our Sue gone..not to Spain this time unless she has her own private jet :))

Must have been quite an emotional day for you yesterday, hope you slept well. It's odd how some years anniversaries are more emotional than others for no logical reason. My Dad died 15 years ago, and last year I really struggled on the date of his death - but this year no problem. Strange.

I won't be around for long but am waiting to see if sis replies.

It was the 6th anniversary of my dad's death today, and the day I had to sign the contract to sell the house.. coincidence or what.. mixed emotions for me.
Hubby did the house up but the market dropped at the wrong time for us.
But it had to be sold we couldn't afford the upkeep and the maintenance.
Huge garden in a fertile area,so as well as doing up the house he planted the garden with veg ..along with ours which is big also, I didn't buy veg for a few yrs:)
But the bills were crippling.£1000 CT pa that was with a reduction and all the other utility bills!
Just hope what he paid out we don't get knobbled fo Capital gains in excess of that.
Dad left the house to my sister and I, she lives in US so will avoid the tax, so I divided my share with my husband so we will both get the allowance before the tax kicks in.
The couple are getting married in May,no chain so hope the sale goes thro soon. Forgive my moan:) but it's a bit of news.
Must e.mail sister to tell her we've signed.. Sol sent it to her first!
