Yes I totally agree it's all about money

I remember when I worked at the TAFE each Dept had a certain amount of money to spend each year. I remember my boss buying things because the money was there not because he needed the Equipment. He just had to spend it or his amount would be cut.
I don't think that happens any more

Australian Students get a raw deal I think as you say Money talks

It's all about money with these institutions now.The debate here now is about uni places being denied to Australian residents to make way for overseas students who can pay up front and don't need student loans.

The Indian protests have lost them a lot of sympathy too, while nobody condones the recent attacks on students the public are asking why they think they deserve more protection than the rest of the community.

There is an awful joke in fashion that they all come here to do PR courses.
PR being Permanent Residency.Rather than help their cause they have turned more people against them.

I used to be a model for them here too Daff on occasions.
A lot of aged Pensioners went and had their Hair done there as it was really cheap for them. I was the Receptionist in the Dept.
Such a shame, they closed 3 down here I believe

You have to be careful with these Private ones Daff.

Some TAFE courses have stopped in the Beauty Industry here in Perth and the girls don't have a great deal of choice now.
I worked in the Hairdressing Dept at the Local TAFE many years ago. There is only 2 TAFE Colleges that offer these courses now as the others closed down.
Of course there is only so many places for girls in the 2 that are still running so they have to go Private if they want to go into Beauty and Hair

It's such a shame but they said they were loosing money running the courses. They then put more IT classes on when they dropped the Hairdressing

Jackie, a friend's daughter just completed a make up course with some private company that cost 15,000 dollars and was supposed to help her find a job.I can't believe they were so silly, the same course could have been done much cheaper through TAFE or RMIT and the result would have been recognized when looking for a job whereas now she has a useless qualification that is not recognized.
