I have been watching literal lyrics on youtube a thread put upon Chat by Uzzi in the Suunshine..." I was sent this earlier " ,it' s very funny.

Spot on with the answer ,well done all alone and no clues !!!
Claude Monet, born on 14 of November 1840 was a founder of the French Impressionist painting. The term impressionist is derived from the title of his painting, Impressionist, Sunrise.

Hi Sandie

That was the only thing we could think of too so that's good if you are thinking on the same lines. We knew 112 pounds in a cwt, but like you feel that they are one letter short for 56 pounds in a half hundred weight, but maybe she has put half hundred as one word.

If no one else comes up with anything then I will just have to go with that, thanks again.

Hi Yvonne

On the 56 one

This is my logic but again perhaps not enough letters as I would say half a hundred weight..but...

There are 112 lbs (pounds) in 1 Hundredweight so could it be....

56 pounds in a Halfhundred Weight....just a thought :)

The words of 76 Trombones ARE Led the big parade but peeps do put them down differently in quizzes.:)

Best of luck ,if we can think of anything else, or any of the other regulars I'm sure they'll post on here for you or pm you.

Hi Sandie

I expected the word to be in the song as she said listen to the words but I looked it up on the net and saw the movie the Music Man and heard the words and also got the words printed up too and it was definitely led the big parade, but think maybe she's misheard it and it is played. If I can't get anything else I will just have to put that, apparently lots of people have been into the shop to ask her if she has made a mistake on that one! so it makes me wonder even though she's not admitting to there being an error. If she is referring to the original song from the Music Man then she has defo made an error but never mind it is for a local charity which rescues dogs so I'm not gonna quibble with her.

Let me know if you think of something for the 56, thanks for your help.

Hi Yvonne,

No game to interrupt yet, lol, I haven't put a question up and you're more than welcome to join us at any time. The more the merrier.:)

Could the first one be
76 Trombones played the big parade,?
there are different versions
some say 'at the big parade' or 'led the big parade '

Come back to you on the 56 P in a H W

Sorry to interrupt your game folks but can I ask if any of you know these two Ditloids as you seem pretty good at them. I am doing a charity quiz sheet and have got stuck on these, lady assures me she has not made any mistakes in the questions, here goes:

76 T P the B P - I think it is to do with 76 trombones and she said listen to the words but the words are 76 trombones led the big parade so that doesn't fit - any ideas please?

and the other one is
56 P in a H W - this one I have no idea what she is talking about! lol

Thanks for any help you can give me
