Yes it makes more sense to buy furniture and household items when you get there. Cos sister went initially to a hotel all their personal items they'd shipped had to go into storage, but they soon found a suitable place they liked, and stayed there until they moved to the US.

Son has to go into work early again tonight, he is the only one on his department. He works on the clothing dept of As*a part of the Walmart Group, and they have overspent their wages budget by £1000 so far this month,. They asked for volunteers to have tonight off...a busy night, and all the women bagged it. As a result he will have tomorrow evening off, so he can go out with the boys !

It will be permanent Sandie,it costs more to send than to buy new so only personal and sentimental stuff will come with us.Small household items and furniture etc are easily replaced, I checked out a lot of furniture shops and manufacturers last time I was there.

When my sister emigrated to SA she sold all her furniture,( and cars ) as they were initially moving into a hotel as had not purchased a property before going, but she took everything else.
