I hardly use GR for research any more , although I do get hot matches and if I wanted to make my tree huge I could, but I am only really interested in my direct descendants.

I am on automatic membership and generally only use it for the friendship ,games and banter and hubby is happy enough for the renewal to contnue.
Believe you me hubby wants value for money and as an ex accountant will not waste it at all.
I'm sorry your hubby doesn't feel the same, but we can keep in touch by email. I'm not on Facebook or MSN...my choice !

I will certainly miss the friends I have made on here but I have found all I can on my UK ancestors and what I have still to find is here in Australia. Sadly I can't afford too many memberships and the Sydney society has already found my Gr Grandfather, the Captain's, will and records of his employment in the New South Wales Public Service as a ferry captain on Sydney Harbour, hopefully this will lead to a living relative of this elusive line.

OH has always frowned on having to pay for information because spiteful relatives have deliberately destroyed documents and photos, he expects value for any expense and GR doesn't provide that.

I wish you would reconsider your renewal for GR even if only for our banter, I know money is tight everywhere, we only have one income, hubby's, ....and mine was higher than his when I was working.which I haven't for4 yrs.
He had been made redundant as they closed the Steel plant he worked at
and chose redundancy with a reduced pension rather than travelling to the nearest plant 150 mile trip each day,

Builders still in as it was a bit drizzly yesterday so I have to keep them fed and watered, and hubby is hovering watching my every move , don't you just hate that !

Hi Liz.. sounds good to me, but note Daph's comment about it being my worst subject...if I do have a good one ,she's correct ancient history albeit well known has no interest to me!! I would have to google everything...and then get it probably get it wrong..lol
