SANDIE SANDIE come out come out were ever you are

Liz Report 9 Oct 2009 18:25

Yes, but it's always been a friendly, chatty thread - as well as brain exercise!

Sometimes it's good to chat about what's going on with people who are not involved. You can say what you like and you know it won't get back to anywhere it shouldn't. (Does that make sense?)

But SANDIE!!! Are you there?

Diane

Diane Report 9 Oct 2009 18:21

Sad isn't it , kid's in every day school have all thing's provided, e.g. school meal's{ free if family can't afford it }. When the day centre provided meal's family's paid a nominal amount so food wasn't free, the cutback's were on the staff who were needed to cook food. Life's hard enough for these people without the council makeing thing's harder.

We seem to be takeing over Sue's thread here with are own topic, think we should shout for SANDIEEEE were are you hun, your turn to put one up lol

I love my job - but sometimes I do question the spending piorities.
The kids' parents all have to provide pads and wipes if needed - we have none provided by the school so if someone runs out, we have to borrow from someone else.
And it took until the swine flu panic before we got tissues in the classrooms, and anti-bac hand gel in the personal care areas.

Diane

Diane Report 9 Oct 2009 17:28

It's the same everywhere nothing but cutback's
The disabled person I care for go's to a day centre, up until last yr they provided lunch and pad's, then the council cut back on what they provide so now his mum has to send a packed lunch and send pads with him. The stupid thing about it the same council have to provide extra pad's on his monthly order as the amount he used to get wasn't enough once the day centre stopped provideing them.
Daft or what.

That's ok - supply teaching, children with learning difficulties / autism in a special school. But to save money, teacher absence is mostly being covered by teaching assistants.

I'm not surprised you're feeling sorry for yourself.

Things are ok here, better now I've had the heat on for a bit! Could do with a bit more work (2 days this week, but only 1 last week) but at least I'm getting my Christmas cards made!

Liz Report 9 Oct 2009 14:39

Cold here too - might stick the heating on for an hour to take the chill off the place.

Your answer looks good - just googled and it said they shared driving the same car. Strange - things must have been different then!

Hi Liz~~
Fine thanks LIz:)
How's you it's cold here I might put on the heating or another layer of jumpers! or a fleece. I'm concerned about the heating bills so am a bit mean, son just came out of his bedroom saying he's been exercising doing his weights ...so he's not cold.
So fleece it is then!!
