Having said that there is this very limited record on Find My Past - they have some RA Attestation records - if this is him !

WW2 records are still held by the MOD - have a look at the site below as to how to obtain the records. They cost £30 still I believe and can take some months to arrive.

I've read that at some point in 2021 the process is going online and will be made easier.

I have tried in vain to find any information about my father I laws war record and I wondered if anyone could help
His full name was Arthur Taylor Whiteley and he was born in Barnsley in 1910 he survived the Second World War and I am guessing was in a Yorkshire reg
Can anyone offer any advise of where I can look for more information
