Does anyone know anything about a Private James Purves who lived in Scotland.

His service number was 4721 and fought in WW1.

Argyll and Sutherland regiment. Sorry I have no dates about him.

Unfortunately, huge numbers of WW1 records no longer exist.

I can only find his medal record (below). Medal records don't give any personal details.:

His previous service number was 4721, when he was in the 1/6 Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.

Another medal record says he was discharged on 26/10/1918, having enlisted on 21/01/1915.
Cause of discharge: Para 2 (B) 1, & 392 XVI Kings Regulations.

Section XVI of Para 392 of KR meant "No longer physically fit for war service".
