I have found my great uncle's name on the Arras Memorial which suggests he may be buried there. Although there is no number, the memorial states that his "plot" is " Bay 3". Does anyone know how I can get the exact location of the burial site - if indeed there is one. All the sites which promise to lead to an actual grave - do not. Can anyone help please ? :-S

This would suggest that the Arras Memorial commemorates the men who died and have no known grave.

I think the "Bay 3" might mean that is the section of the Memorial itself where his name is engraved.

I found this and it backs up what Kath wrote :-

At the entrance to the Faubourg d'Amiens Cemetery in France stands the Arras Memorial. The memorial commemorates nearly 35,000 soldiers of the British, South African and New Zealand forces with no known grave. Most of those commemorated were killed in the Battle of Arras, fought between 9 April and 16
