Any information on either or both of these men would be appreciated - I think Joseph was in the army but I have no further details, Both were born in Birmingham 1914 and 1918 respectively. Their mmn was Cooper. |

EDIT - I think you can discount the two marriages posted below as I have found these couples in the 1939 census and the birth dates are different. |

If the above is the correct family, and I can only see 1 Joseph born in Q2 1914 on freebmd then I think this may be his death: |

Freebmd also only shows 1 Leslie Steadman born in 1918, and this death gives a birth date in the right quarter: |

On the 1950 ER Joseph (jn) & Beatrice were at 200 Kendal rise road and in 1955 Beatrice was still at this address, but no Joseph. There is, however a Ronald Steadman with her, who I think is her son born in 1932 who would not have been eligible to vote in 1950. |

Thank you, Flip and Kathleen, for all that information - some I did have but nevertheless very grateful, Thanks also +++DetEcTive+++ yes, it was military information I was mostly after - wasn't sure if there was a way to find regiments they may have joined but obviously the service records would be interesting to see so thanks for the link. |

Unfortunately L & J Steadman are not unique names. In any event, there’s very little in the way of records from WW2 online. |

Thanks for the information ===DetEcTive+++ I didn't realize how common the name of Joseph Steadman was until I started looking through records trying to help my friend. Thank you for the information about service records I will pass this on and then it will be up to him to contact MOD if he wishes to do so. |
