Does anyone here who may have served in the irish Guards in the 1950's and toured Cyprus in 1958 remember a Timothy O'Brien . He left in 1959 following a Cyprus tour and was based at Victoria Barracks I believe just before he was discharged. I know its a long shot but anything is worth a tryt. The archives have no information other than his name, service number and discharge date. |

You won't be able to access his army career as MOD has all the files from 1920. Only the person themselves can access their files. After death next of kin can access the files and then when the person has been dead 25 years anyone can access the files. There is a charge. |

You can actually get limited access to his military records earlier than 25 years after death - but you have to produce his death cert. |
