There's a photo of Arthur in the Nottingham Evening Post 21 May 1943 attached to this article:
Java Prisoner a Bulwell Man
We have succeeded in tracing the address of Arthur Victor Rook, which we were unable to record from the broadcast of prisoners of war from Java yesterday. It is 30a Munsters Street Bulwell and was furnished by his wife who informed the 'Post' she had not heard from her husband for 16 months, He was posted as missing last February. She is naturally greatly relieved to learn of the news that her husband was a prisoner. -----------------------------

Hi Lorraine
WW2 service records are still with the MOD and are not online. Have a look here to find out how to order them (cost £30 and several months wait to get them):-

Every ww2 records site I visit comes up with nothing. I have his service number, know he was in the Royal Artillery as a gunner, he was even a Jap POW but everything seems to come up as a blank? Can Someone point me in the right direction Please, it's so frustrating Thank you I advance.
