undermentioned Ladies in recognition of valuable
services under "The British Red Cross Society"
or "Order of St. John of Jerusalem in England"

ST. JOHN HOSPITAL.

...There had been changes the staff, and they were very sorry to lose the Hon. Matron, Miss Caird. In February, Miss M. Astley Campbell was appointed to the post as Matron, with Miss M. Ward Simpson as assistant...

...He mentioned that the now Matron (Miss Campbell), who had the Mons Medal and the medal of Queen Elizabeth of the Belgians, had formerly been in command of a hospital on the Continent. The King and Queen of the Belgians had in the past expressed their thanks to them for the way in which they had tended the Belgian wounded in 1914. Looking for any information on Mabel’s life as a nurse in the war. I believe she was awarded Royal Red Cross Medal, Florence Nightingale Medal and Queen Elizabeth Medal Belgium also 14 star BRCS & St johns Jerusalem.
