As Buttevant is apparently in County Cork, try this site. I have copied a post by Teresa from the excellent thread about Irish genealogy on Genealogy Chat. If it isn't what you want, you might find a better solution somewhere else in the thread. |

FMP has British National Armed forces Births 1761-2005 if you want to give some details (if on there, certificate will be available through the gro site at £9.25, but may be covered by the, at present, £6 offer) |

Thank you all very much for your help. Sorry for the late reply. It is Beatrice E M Courtney that I'm searching for. Rather than jumping straight in and going to a site I wasn't familiar with, I have sent off for the Birth Certificate of one of Beatrice's siblings who was born in Wales. That way I'll get their Mother's maiden name. I will certainly have a look at these sites and send off for Beatrice's Birth Certificate and hopefully I can use the sites for other family members if needed. |

You should try the regimental records or the chaplin returns for this - use findmypast for the GRO index references. Alternatively fill in an overseas birth application form and send this to the GRO without an index. This will take at least 15 days to process and it would help them if you had the father's name and service number. |
