Oddly, there were two births reg in that name in 1909 in Morpeth:

He had been in Canada before 1925 - 1930 and gave a friends address in Smith Falls, Ontario as his destination. ....... Have you checked All members trees - top right under Search to see if any of his family are listed? If they are, send the tree owner a message. 9 members list Hunter Armstrong in their trees. There's still a chance that they can contact the seller as the photo wasn't sold.

Hunter Armstrong survived WW1 and won a military medal for Bravery in the field.
I have put this on a Newbiggin remembered Facebook page in the hope that a direct family member sees it.
