Hello,

I am looking for any information regarding the following two people and what, if anything, they did during WW1. None of my living relatives know anything, I know one of them possibly served in the royal artillery.

Any help would be appreciated:

Charles W Adkin
b. 1877, Amwell, Middlesex
M. Sarah Cooper 1901 Hastings
1911 census carriage driver 18 North road cottages N highgate
Unknown year of death

John Burdett
b.1887 (c) London
M. Maria Sinfield 1907 Edmonton
Believe he served in the Royal Artillery.
Unknown year of death.

thanks.

As you may know, about 70% of WW1 service records were destroyed during WW2 bombing. Although medal rolls survived, they don't give ages, place of birth or residence.

If correct, 1911 census for Charles W Adkin gives his middle name as Walter.

This is probably the Burdett family in 1911, but why has Maria changed her name to Elizabeth?
