Austin, thank you for the headstone picture too. I have already been to the church yard a few times and only came across the headstone by chance as I was told he was buried in a different part. The other name on the head stone is a bit of a mystery too but I have found out he was living with her as his 'wife'. Also I believe her 'sister' lived with them too. I believe she is not actually buried with him as she was greek orthodox and therefore couldnt be buried in a christian grave?

You might be able to get something through this site. A great % of WW1 service records were destroyed, but if he remained in the Army post 1920, then there should be records available. The Medal index cards were stored elsewhere and so survive, but will only tell you what medals he was entitled to receive.

I am trying to find out where my grandfather was between 1915 and 1960. VERY long shot I know.He was in the army.
Archibald Arthur. RASC S/16634 based in London until 1911/12.
Posted to Ireland 1911/12 where my mum was born and then posted to Malta. My Nan and mum went with him.
My nan came back to England in about 1914 and that was the last that was known about Grandad.
Nothing was known about him until I found his death records in Ware in 1961.
My nan died in 1953.
Does anyone know how I might find his military records, when he left the army etc. Very long shot I know but any guidance would be helpful.
