Records for people who left the forces after 1920 are still with the MOD. Here is a link with information about how to order the service records:-

https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/requests-for-personal-data-and-service-records

The records cost £30 and often take several months to arrive. You have to meet certain criteria in order to purchase them.

Hi all, Trying to obtain any info, reference my Grandfather Walter Trevett, born 30/03/1908 Woolwich, was in the 1st Battalion SWB, approx 1926-1935, believe toured far east 1930-1934 Hong Kong. Was a Bandsman with Regimental band, trained at Kneller Hall Army School of Music Twickenham. Later called up for service in WW2 poss 1940/41 joined REME Regiment, served in Italy. Thanks in anticipation.
