sidney walter george wills able seaman royal navy

hi
i would like to get my fathers service records he was in the royal navy as able seaman on his marriage cert in 1945 it says details of his occupation as in the royal navy. how can i find his years of service on the royal navy i think i need this info to apply for his records?

Other members who served in the Navy in more recent years have said that they were handed the majority of their records on discharge. This follows the Naval tradition.
