Can anyone help with my research of my dads army career, he served many years in the royal Devon yeomanry, Barnstaple, also a short time in the voluntary tank regiment during the 1960's, unfortunately I don't know his army number, I have also been led to believe that he was awarded the Burma star.
Any help would be appreciated.

Edward Searle.

Army records post 1920 are still with the MOD. You can apply for them at a cost of £30 and there could be a wait of several months for them to arrive.

Look here for how to apply:-

OK, thankyou for your advice, I I'll try and find out his army number from relatives and proceed from there as I will need his number if I go through the MOD.

Edward Searle.

Even if you can't find his army number I would still get in touch with the MOD. Sometimes they can still find the correct records without it.
