I wonder if anyone can help I'm trying to find out about the military service of my grandfather in the first world war. His name was Ebenezer Edward Cracknell or Edward Ebenezer Cracknell. He was born in Sunderland but by 1911 census was living in Exeter Devon. I do not have a service no for him. Thank you in anticipation |

Can't find a Service or Pension Record for him. There are a couple of medal cards that could be him. |

You have the right cracknell. The 1891 census says born in Sunderland and the 1901 says born in leeds. But the 1901 gives all the cracknell children as born in Leeds so think if his father was anything like him he just put them all down as leeds. Mum says he served in ww1. And you can't argue with my mum . |
