Service in the RAMC in world war1

my father in law born in Boston Lincs on 28th September 1896 served in the RAMC at some time during the war he had only one eye so would not have been able to serve in combat or so I understand, however he may have been in the Nottingham area sometime during the war because his future wife worked at Chilwell Ordnance Depot in the Bomb Making factory I would like to try and find out when he enlisted and his Army Number and anything else there is to Know can anyone help |
