I've never seen an operations record book, but I'ld be inclined to purchase one of these two files.
My guess is the first - guess wrong and I'ld maybe buy the other, depending on what they show.

I don't know abt Halifax Mk II, but the Mk III had a crew of 6 or 7, so maybe there were some survivors from your uncle's flight - presumably made POW.
I know the Halifax was a much easier aircraft to escape out of than a Lancaster.

... actually it seems there are only four war graves there, and it looks like they were all on the same flight as your uncle

select satellite view and zoom in

you can see the church right where the pointer puts you

you can use streetview to go to the road in front of the church

I am trying to find out when and where my late uncle died in France when his plane was shot down during ww2
His name was robert deans and he was born in Glasgow in 1921 he was very young when he died possibly around 1940. Does anyone have access to records or could you tell me the best site to use. Thanks
