Hi all,

I am trying to find out whether my partners grandfather was in WW2 but because I don't have a great deal of info I'm stumped.... :-S :-S

Edgar was born in SEP 1907 (6d 47) in Birmingham
He married Ivy Elkington in JUN 1928 in Birmingham North (6d 1223)
They had 3 girls - Betty, Francis and Ivy, and 2 boys (twins) Ronald and Raymond.
All born in Birmingham...
Edgar's parents were Henry Young and Annie Clarke.

I would like to find out if Edgar was in WW2 and if so what position he was and did he die during war as I can't find a death record for him??

Regards,
Emily

You do not have his birth certificate then for his date of birth

Possible marriages for three of the children in Birmingham

The certs would have shown if he was deceased at the time of those marriages and whether he witnessed any of them

the 1974 Birmingham death certainly seems likely

Ivy died in1968 in Birmingham it seems

perhaps Emily you didn't know that SEP 1907 means the July-August-September quarter of the year? and 28 Aug 1907 would fall into that quarter

as GlitterBaby says you need his birth certificate to compare the birthdates
