"Three and a half years a prisoner of the Japs after the fall of Singapore, marine C. A Gray a survivor from the Prince of Wales had the surprise of his life when the great naval base was freed. For who should come up and greet him in the Shanghai camp but his brother-in-law Warrant Engineer H. K. Hosegood, serving in the HMS Royalist and there for the surrender of the Japs to Lord Louis Mountbatten. Marine Gray's mother, who lives at 7 South Lawn Terrace, Heavitree, has had a letter from him saying he is safe and well. Gray is an old boy of Ladysmith road school." ------------------------------------------------------------------

Would anyone be able to tell me were I could find our any info of this gentleman please. I think his name was Hugh Kenneth b1914-d1979. Believed to start as an Engineer & retired from the Royal Navy in 1959 as a Lt Cdr, lived at one time in Greenbank, Kingsteignton, S.Devon Many thanks, Jim
