Member Since: January 2005 Posts: 99 Send Message	My grandfather is recorded on his marriage certificate as being in the Royal field artillery as a gunner on 30th August 1922. How might I find any records related to this? I have done a basic search at the national archives but havent turned up anything. Name: William Harry Smith DOB 30th April 1903 Service no: 6078620 Rank: Gunner any help given thanks Kevin

	His service records should still be with the MOD and not online. Look here for information as to how you can order them:- http://www.veterans-uk.info/service_records/army.html The records cost £30 and you will probably have to wait many months to receive them as the MOD concentrate on more pressing matters.
