Re,Albert G Smith,,if he joined as a single man then if any service records exsists they will have his next of kin,,,,usually parent/s,and address,plus they usually have the soldiers address on joining.

Ive been searching Ancestry as its free weekend but Ive gone crosseyed and thought I might have missed something lol

Possible medal card - he arrived in France on 20/4/1915. What occupation is given on your father's birth cert?

Sorry - can't find any military records for either of the men.

About 70% of WW1 records were destroyed in a fire so the records may not exist.

Hi, If someone can help me I would be most grateful. I am looking for any military information on my grandfather and father in law.

John William Marks born 1891 71 Gill Street Limehouse Middx
He married Rose Constance Collins 18/2/1915 2 months b4 my father was born

Albert George Smith born 1893 Clerkenwell Middx
Married Violet Rossi abt 1819.
I am told he won a gallantry medal but cannot remember which one!
