I need some help finding the birth info fo my 2x G grand father, James Anderson. Born in Great Yarmouth Norfolk in 1820 and was a private in the 46th foot, number 1401. He died in the great storm in 1854 in the crimea. |

According to a tree on Ancestry, he married Amelia Norton (no source and I cannot find a marriage); their first child was a Margaret, b1850, Isle of Man. One other child, Thomas James, b1854, Dublin. Is this your family, David? |

Possibly James & Amelia married in the IOM but bmd records only started there in 1884. |

Chris, the tree on Ancestry has his death a 1854, Scarborough but no source. |

I have received a message from David who is under the misapprehension that I am the person who has helped him and that I work for GR. I hope I have put him straight. :-D |

I too have received PMs from David, one confirming that we have the correct family and the other: "This is interesting. I have found this too and wondering if it is him" |

I got this info from the muster rolls for the 46th at Kew. James lost his life in the great storm in 1854 in the Crimea. |
