on his artillery papers just before the bit were he is told he is unfit for war, we think we might have sorted it, as a transport medal BWTS medal as he was a driver, what I thought was a 70 could well be TS a few people have told me, the writing is so bad and it fits with his job. thanks |

I know you have all helped me with my uncle and have now got his ww1 records but when he went to the artillery from the raf it shows a medal it looks like BW 70 was there ever such a number for a medal it looks like a doctor has written it? |

I have just got the Sept. edition of the WDYTYA magazine and there is an article in there about the RAF in WW1. May give you some interesting background, and also it lists other sites to try. |

thank you Im sorry about the confusion hes been a real pain to try and find, he died long before I was born and you know how tales go in families and my lot lost touch with him so the story about him being killed in Egypt just fudges over it once again thanks. Will see if I can find rellies of Hilda Neale now |

Frances, the Royal Artillery attestation is after he was in the air force (which is clearly mentioned on that attestation). |

Oh boy thank you for this it seems he did marry, and from what family stories go he died in the second war supposedly out in Egypt, but thats another tale at least I can go forward now |

On the image for the Royal Artillery Attestation transcription posted above he was a machine hand and was 22 years and 4 months old when he attested 7 Jan 1921. |

Hi Kath, his name was Archibald Edward Goodall, born 22nd August 1898, in Edmonton, Middlesex the photo I have of him is as a young man in the royal flying corp uniform, I sorry I have no more on him only that. |

were would I find any information or look up on the 1914,1918 royal flying corp I had one of my uncles in it. dont have his number or anything else come to that only name and date of birth and a photo of him in uniform. only seem to be able to find army and navy any help please would be great. |
