Found an article in the same paper dated 1948 where it says she was in a Hamburg school . It sounded as if she was teaching German children as it says they didn't have any shoes. Many thanks |

Perhaps you could trace the family of the other person to see if they taught in the same school or place,,,,,,they may have kept intouch when they returned to UK. |

No they were sent to different places. Also Vera must have moved around as we have a photograph of her where it says she is at a place called Bad Neuheim; that was at the opposite end of the country. In a letter it says she was a headteacher there. |

Yes apparently she was on an American base at Bad Neuheim. The school has since closed. |

When I was at primary school in Soest, I am sure my teacher was Miss Sutherland. If I am right about this, I can tell you that I still have fond memories of her. |
