Member Since: June 2004 Posts: 18 Send Message	i have been searching for my uncle James Wilson,he served and live through the first world war .i have his service number (93724) and believing he served in a Liverpool regiment I have not been able to locate anything about him. James was born in burnley . please can anyone advise on how I may find details about his time in the forces.

Having said that, over 60% of WW1 records were destroyed by fire during WW2 so it's only a slight chance that his survived. Checking the medal rolls (which weren't destroyed) this is the only Wilson that had that service number: British Army WWI Medal Rolls Index Cards, 1914-1920 Name: John P Wilson Regiment or Corps: Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, York and Lancaster Regiment, Durham Light Infantry Regimental Number: 41520, 46541, 93724

James was born 1899 at Hyde street burnley . the medal states l,pool which I take to mean Liverpool . he had a cousin the same age and with the same name also in the kings Liverpool reg so I guess they enrolled together. he died 1930 I am told poisoned water during the war was the course. I cannot understand why the number on his medal fails to get any results . not sure where to search next really. he was just plain James Wilson ........one of hundreds it seems.
