Is it possible to get my Father's record/medal card. He was in Coastal command and served abroad, not got all details yet but want to know if I can get them or not.

WW2 records are still with the MOD.

A copy of his records would cost £30 unless he or his widow is able to sign in which case they would be free. You could expect to wait a number of months for a deceased serviceman's records to arrive.

Promotions or 'special' medals awarded to him might be listed on The Gazette

His name might also come up in a search of the National Archives
