Military Chat

I am looking to find my husband's grandfather's military records. I think WW1.
He was born in 1900 in Holywell area, north Wales.
He used to tell stories about his time in the cavalry and
talked about France. He died in 1971 and no record of
his burial is known, or is not talked about, I think a paupers burial may be possible.
John Edward Williams married Emma Blodwen Williams. Edward Glyn Williams, my husband's father (DOB 17/01/21c) was his son who I believe was in the Royal Welsh in WW11, a desert rat and prisoner of war. If you know how I can find information on both, I would be grateful.

Perhaps you could try the local library closest to the place of death to see if there was a family notice in the newspaper of the time giving details of the funeral.

If he was born June 1900, he would only just have been 18 when the war ended so doubt if he would have served in WW1. Possibly he joined later in which case you can obtain both his and Edward Glyn's service records. This site gives details:
