This may be a red herring, but I found this marriage of a William Rush in India in 1902
Bride's Forename Winifred Maud Bride's Surname Bun Bride's Age - Groom's Forename William<<<<<<<<<< Groom's Surname Rush<<<<<<<<<<<< Groom's Age - Year Of Marriage 1902 Date Of Marriage 17 Dec 1902 Place Quetta Presidency Bengal Bride's Father's Forename James Bride's Father's Surname Bun Groom's Father's Forename Jonathan<<<<<<<<<<<<< Groom's Father's Surname Rush<<<<<<<<<<<<< Archive Reference N-1-303 Folio No. 380 Catalogue Description Parish register transcripts from the Presidency of Bengal, : 1713-1948 Entry No. - Record set British India Office marriages Category Birth, Marriage, Death & Parish Records Record collection Marriages & divorces Collections from Great Britain
The groom's father is named as Jonathan Rush.
William Rush is described as a bachelor, and as a Sergeant in the Ordinance Dept.
EDIT - this chap would seem to tally with the chap DetEcTive found in the Indian Army Quarterly List for 1 January 1912 who was also in the ordinance dept.
SECOND EDIT: Looking at the image, I think the bride's surname is actually Burr, not Bunn.
I don't suppose your father had a brother named Leslie?
Births Dec 1912 Rush Leslie H Burr Woolwich 1d 2236

He'd only have been 42 in 1914, so even if he was no longer in the Indian Army, its likely he was either called up from the reserves into a training capacity, or to fight
Unfortunately over 60% of WW1 records were destroyed during WW2 bombing and there are too many William Rush' to identify a correct medal card, assuming he was awarded campaign medals
Have you any idea if he was still a serving soldier in or after 1920? If so, his records would still be with the MOD. You can order a copy at a cost of £30 from https://www.gov.uk/requests-for-personal-data-and-service-records

Going back to
wife Christina GRIMSEY Birth 26 Dec 1898 in Weeley, Essex, England Death 1982 in Little Clacton, Essex, England ..........
The only death for a Christina which matches the birth date is
England & Wales, Death Index, 1916-2007 about Christina Cole Name: Christina Cole Birth Date: 26 Dec 1896 Date of Registration: Dec 1982 Age at Death: 86 Registration district: Colchester Inferred County: Essex Volume: 9 Page: 2091
Assuming she was William's widow, this is probably her remarriage Marriages Mar 1950 (>99%) Rush Christina Cole Colchester 4a 1114
If you believe this to be correct, then it might be worth purchasing the MC as it ought to give her father's name if known, hopefully a De Silva. The other possibility is that she was a widow at the time she married William hence the ancestry tree owner believing her maiden name to be Grimsey

1891 England Census about William Rush Name: William Rush Age: 18 Estimated birth year: abt 1873 Relation: Soldier Gender: Male Where born: Colchester, Essex, England Civil Parish: Fulford Ecclesiastical parish: Fulford Town: Heworth County/Island: Yorkshire Country: England Street address:
Occupation:Drummer - Infantry
Registration district: York Sub-registration district: Walmgate ED, institution, or vessel: York Infantry Barracks
Piece: 3895 Folio: 124 Page Number: 21 ..........
Do you have his MC? Does it actually say that he was in one of the Yorkshire regiments? Although he was based in a Yorkshire Barracks, they were moved around the country.
Entry on FIBIS for the marriage 1895 RUSH William to DE SILVA C Ecclesiastical & Registry Office Records > Marriages > Bombay Marriages .. A different tree on Ancestry has B&D as William RUSH Birth 12 May 1872 in Colchester, Essex, England Death 07 Mar 1934 in St Osyth, Essex, England
wife Christina GRIMSEY Birth 26 Dec 1898 in Weeley, Essex, England Death 1982 in Little Clacton, Essex, England
As it is unsourced, it may be incorrect

Please forgive the following re-type as reading a block of text in capitals can be confusing.
Is this correct? ............................ I am looking for anything on William Rush born 1872 in Colchester, died 1934 Essex, married 1895 in India to A C De Silva.
At age 18 (1890?) he was in ............Yorkshire Drummer Infantry He was my Grandfather.
His dad was Jonathan Rush born 1837 Suffolk, died 1908 Essex. He (Jonathan) was in the Essex Rifles Militia as a Sergeant in the 33 Foot in 1879
Can you help me Thank you from Alison .............
You seem to have quite a lot of information to start with :-D :-D
His birth Births Jun 1872 (>99%) RUSH William Colchester 4a 307
which matches with his death
Deaths Mar 1934 (>99%) Rush William 62 Tendring 4a 1068
