My father (above) was lance corporal in 2/1st (City of London) battalion (Royal Fusiliers) Service no 2301 in WW1. enlisted 2nd September 1914. Have record of him in Malta - Feb 1915, Polygon camp Nr Cairo Sept 1915, Gallipoli 27/9/15 to Jan 1916, Rouen France June 1916, Trace then uncertain until wounded Sept 1916 believed in Battle of Somme. |

Hello Brian, over 60% of WW1 records were destroyed during WW2. Those that did survive are available on Ancestry. |
