I am searching for information about a Jack Goodall, a Canadian serviceman who was stationed in Sussex during early 1943. He possibly served with RCAF and may have come from Alberta, BC, or Ontario. Any leads from Goodall family members would be appreciated. Paul Vidler, Essex, UK

An internet search brings up at least 4 similar posts on other sites in the last few days - have you had any helpful replies?

Alberta and Ontario are thousands of miles away - why the confusion?

Assuming you have the correct spelling of the surname, he isn't listed as KIA in the CWGC site, so that's something.
Don't forget that Jack could be a diminutive of John.

It does help if you give all the information you have eg

Jack Dalrymple Goodall (1913-1989) Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

I would like to hear from anyone who knew Jack D Goodall (b 1913 Ontario - d 1989 Edmonton) or has any recollection of his military career in WW2.

Your tree on Ancestry shows that his 'wife' was Winifred Ruby Crawley who is likely to have been born in Ontario & to have died in Edmonton, also that they had a daughter.

Apart from the 1963 ER, your source is other trees on that site - have you backtracked to the originator and asked if they have any other information? What about his brother who you name as Martin?

Have you looked into relatives of Winifred?

Have you checked the 1921 census? - This is currently free via:
http://search.ancestry.ca/search/db.aspx?dbid=8991

Have you applied for his WW2 service record? - See:
http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/genealogy/022-909.007-e.html

Have you googled Edmonton city directory? - There's a 1953 hit for him & Winnifred at:

[I didn't look further]

Thanks to you all for your help. I will continue my searches on-line as always. Someone with a Goodall surname, or family connection will contact me some day, I'm sure! Paul Vidler/SXLad
