Just be aware that abt 60/70% of service records for WW1 where distroyed in WW2 bombings but most of the medal cards survived because they where stored at a separate location so with a regiment and regimental number it's possible to find his medal card, and also look on Ancestry to see if his service record or pension records survived |

Trying to find Alfred army records born Alfred H Brookes 1897 Birmingham could have been in the Warwickshires been told he was a Vimey ridge i just cant seem to pin him down anywhere on ww1 records . |
