Unfortunately very few Officers records for RAMC were retained and I can't see anything for him on the National Archives Catalogue |

If he was an officer then he would have been given a Commission, |

Hi, thank you very much to those that have taken the trouble to help me. With regard to thinking that JRD was a Captain is because I went to the Forces War Records stand at WDYTYA live. They found a JRD RAMC Captain but could not explore any further. Ancestry could not provide any help, except for a few more journeys between UK and Trinidad. I will be exploring all links over the coming days. Once again thanks to all. Regards, John. |

Having read his Obituary i doubt he would have served in the RAMC as a Captain? |

The National Archives site has a free downloadable list of WW1 Army Officers and info on how to search for officers' records - the ones on Ancestry are (I think) only for privates and NCOs. |
