TB is bacterial infection and doesn't lay dormant you catch it from others around you and it's not passed on through the gene pool |

If he was married, he wouldn't be eligible to be an in-pensioner. Haven't looked at his records but I assume the paperwork is about the decision whether to award an out-pension or not. |

Just thinking out aloud. If I'm correct TB can lie dormant for years?? I'm wondering if his mother died of it?? Maybe George could have been born with it and the cold and dampness of the trenches bought it on?? Or even contracted it from working in the mills. |

Not sure but it looks like he was considered for being an in-pensioner and probably had to go throught their medical assessment, |

Mick, you're more than welcome. Roy (PP) has a far better knowledge about the forces than I could ever have, but I do like a good search for the unfindable. So if there's anything particular we can help you with just let us know. |

The term Chelsea Pensioner was used for all pensions awarded by the army upto 1955, because the Royal hospital Chelsea was the administrator of pensions for the army untill then, |

Roy, just a quick question, if someone is given a Chelsea number does that class them as a Chelsea Pensioner? |

Well you both certainly have been busy. I'm very grateful for all the information. You have the right George Woods because we knew he was adopted, the 'P' being Parkinson his Auntie & Uncle's name, and the home address is correct and wife's name also. |
