Just to add re the marriage record that GlitterBaby posted for info, on the marriage register image it gives Ernest's occupation as 'dairyman', which tallies with what Susan said in her opening post about his occupation on her grandparents' marriage certificate. |

On my mother Lucy's birth certificate(1918) , my grandfather Ernest Lloyd has under "occupation" Motor Bus Fitter army pensioner. I never knew him as he died in 1927. I have been trying to find out more about him and his army service. On my parents marriage certificate Ernest's profession is stated as soldier. On his marriage to my grandmother in 1917 his occupation is a dairyman. Unfortunately there are a great many Ernest Lloyd's. |
