I wonder if anyone can help I am trying to trace my father-in-laws records. All that I know is that he was born in or around Doncaster in 1914/15, lived in Barnby Dun and served in a tank regiment in Belgium during the second world war. I know this is very scant information but would be grateful for any help.

WW2 records are only available to the person themself or their NOK. This site gives details of how to get them. They cost £30 and there is quite a long wait:

"WW2 records are only available to the person themself or their NOK". That is no longer the case. What can and cannot be released is explained in the link above.
