I am trying to trace his relatives as he served with my father Basil Paul Blake in WW11 in Egypt. I have photos of him with my father in June/July 1942 when it was feared that the Germans would be in Cairo and on July 11 1942 (Known as Ash Wednesday) the papers of Grey Pillars were either burnt, sent to Jerusalem with Margery Hopkins and Helen Mason or sent to London. My father with Robert Hall and Margery Lassiter took the papers to Luxor where they were flown to London. I am hoping to find out more of my fathers service history. |
