There is no online record of his burial or cremation, and therefore we ( the helpers on the GR boards) cannot help with that.

Also, it's almost certain that nobody who has personal knowledge of his grave (if any) - which would probably mean a family member - will spot your many threads here.

You'll just have to keep contacting cemeteries and crematoria.

Keep a list of the places you have contacted, even if you have a negative result.

It is easy to lose track of your enquiries otherwise.

You just have to keep eliminating possibilities.

If you don't have a copy of his death cert - get one, as advised on previous occasions.

The only way on GR to find connections is to look in ‘search all member trees’ which I advised two years ago.

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 27 Apr 2024 09:01

Unfortunately, from a quick search for some of Bertie's siblings on "Search all member trees", it appears that Melanie herself is the only person to have those people on a GR tree.

(But you don't have Bertie on your tree, Melanie?)

Bertie and his family are on 24 public trees on Ancestry.
I've looked at a few of them (not all!), and none of them give a burial place.

EDIT:

Re "Search all member trees", further brief search shows that Bertie's son Neville is on four GR trees other than Melanie's own.
Odd that they don't also have Bertie on their trees.

Bertie’s father is in a GR tree,

Get his death certificate and then contact the parks and cemetery dept of the local council giving then the death cert details

The council will have details of any burial or cremation provided it was a council

If he went for one of the newer time burials through a private source then the council won’t have those details
However in 1985 I don’t think places like woodland burials were taking place then

The council will most likely want a search fee !
