Bit late to this but I am the 1955 child of Elsie referred to above, the 1944 child, my brother Peter sadly died in 2021.
Gwen was my mothers loved and sadly missed sister (strictly speaking half sister but mum never thought of her in that way).
I came to this by accident searching for a mention if my Primary school relative, Billy Ousley, we were at Newtown Primary School in the 1960’s.

Walter's daughter Olive (born 17 Dec 1901) died unmarried, in Ashton in 1967.

His daughter Annie May (born 29 May 1904) married in 1930:

They had two children, born in Ashton, 1939 and 1944.

The 1944 child probably married in Ashton in 1965, and had two children, one born in Ashton in 1968 (who married in Greater Manchester in 1990 and had two children 1995 and 1998), and the other in 1971.


The 1939 child married in Ashton in 1958, and had two children in Ashton, 1959 and 1961.
Appears to be still living in Manchester, though the spouse died in 2018.

I can't see either Ethel or her husband definitely after that - and no sign of children.

Charles's brother George, as already said on 3 Oct. married Elizabeth Ann Dransfield.
They had only one child, Vera, in 1917, who sadly died in 1918.

Emily, who married Reginald Hooper, had no children.
They are together in Exeter in 1939. Emily died in 1950.

Edmund, who died in 1895, didn't marry.

Walter, who, as already said, was with his brother George in Glamorgan in 1891,
and in West Gorton, Lancs in 1911 with wife Elizabeth and children Ethel, Olive, Annie May, and William Walter.

Re the two children of Elsie (Charles's daughter by his second marriage) as mentioned earlier:

the 1955 child may perhaps have married in 1989 in Glamorgan, and may perhaps have been living in Dorchester in 2010.
I can't see him definitely after that.

According to a correction to the 1989 bride's surname on Ancestry, she appears to have remarried , and is currently living in Wales (per ER).



Unfortunately, Elsie's 1944 child has such a common name that's it's impossible to pick out any other records.
There is no further record of that child in Devon - but loads of records for people of that name in many other places.

Edmund died in 1895.
Walter and George are both boarders with a Jones family in Ystradyfodwg, Glamorgan in 1891.
Emily married Reginald Hooper in 1912.

1901 Sidney's a coachman in Burrington, Devon, and in 1901 he's a groom in Hove (claiming to be born 1880). He married Charlotte Bridger in Sussex in 1919, and in 1939 they're living in Chichester (his DOB as 1879) . He died 1959 in Selsey, Sussex

George seems to have moved to Lancashire, marrying Elizabeth Ann Dransfield in 1907, and living in Radcliffe, Lancs in 1939. He died in 1949.

Walter also moved to Lancashire. He married Elizabeth Long in Manchester in 1895, and was living in Ardwick in 1901, and in 1911 (by which time they had Ethel 15, Olive 9, Annie May 6, and William Walter 2.
He died in 1918.

Elizabeth was a servant in Heavitree in 1881, and in Canterbury in 1891.
In 1892 she married Wiliam Henry Roberts in Canterbury.
By 1901 they had Winifred Roberts 8, Dorothy Roberts 6, Mabel Roberts 3.
By 1911 ,they also had William and Albert - but her husband's not with her.
.Elizabeth probably died in Chatham , Kent in 1954.
