Can anyone find any sign of the above lady born in 1937. In Bristol. Last known address in Redruth Cornwall. Husband Benjamin Griffiths. Children kay barker born approx 1956.

She is shown on the 1939 register, so the assumption must be that she is deceased. Look for a death starting with freebmd

Griffiths marriage 1972.

Child's birth exactly 1956.
Ancestry shows three possible marriages for women named Kay M Barker - can't tell if any of them are "your" Kay or not.


Looking at the Electoral Rolls on GR (under "Search" at top right of this page), there's only one (or possibly two) Jeanette Griffiths of about the right age showing up, in Torpoint - but only in 2002 at one address, and 2003-4 at another address.

No Benjamin or Ben listed with that woman.

When was Jeanette in Redruth?

I don't see her death, unless it was registered without her middle name, and unless she had moved away from Cornwall -

in which case this might be a possibility:

That woman's DOB would fit with your Jeanette's birth reg in 4th qr of 1937:

But unless you know your Jeanette's DOB, that's only a vague possibility.

Or her death may be very recent, and not be showing online yet.

The DOB given for your Jeanette in 1939 was 5 Oct 1937 - which doesn't match the DOB of the woman who died in 2001.

However, DOB's given in 1939 aren't always correct.

So if she is an open record on the 1939 register her death must have been picked up

She seems to have been in Bude in 2003

We need more info from the OP. Actual DoB would be helpful

Incidentally, her being an open record in 1939 isn’t conclusive. I know of at least 3 people who are on there who are very much alive - including my next-door neighbour

Think she was last in Cornwall in around 2018 approx.
I think it's like argylgran says, maybe not picked up the death yet. Thanks for your help everyone. You've definately found the right one but doubt it's the one in Wales but guess can't say that 100per cent. :-)

She must have elected out of the public electoral rolls because she doesn’t show after 2003 in Bude

You say last known address was Redruth .have you tried writing to that address

I think they have. I'll double check but I think that's been tried.
